A number of the senior managers and experts of Tehran Municipality’s Beautification Organization have attended an expert-level meeting to discuss the identity symbols of the city of Tehran.
According to the Public Relations Department of Tehran Beautification Organization, the results of the two year research study on identity symbols of Tehran city were reviewed.
Tehran Beautification Organization has already published the results of the study in a comprehensive book.
During the meeting, the top advisor of the project, Dr. Mohammad Javad Mahdavinejad said the concepts of identity and its function were highlighted in the research study.
Dr. Mahdavinejad added that the symbols of Tehran city have been studied through a methodological approach in the above-mentioned research.
He referred to some negative features of Tehran city including air pollution and heavy traffic and said such unpleasant concepts should be erased from the minds of the citizens living in the Iranian capital in a long term plan.
Meanwhile, Dr. Esmaeli, the senior observer of Tehran Beautification Organization said Tehran is suffering from lack of urban symbols and is facing a crisis of identity.
Dr. Esmaeli underlined that there is a widening gap between “Old Tehran and New Tehran.”
