Based on the report of public relations and international affairs of Tehran Beautification Organization, Elham Fakhari, the member of the Islamic Council of Tehran City, emphasized on making the city more comfortable for people with disabilities, and she said: Veterans, children, and people with disabilities should have urban facilities the same as the others.
Elham Fakhari said: A campaign for enforcing the law to support people with disabilities should be created by the urban managers.
In this regard, Zahra Nezhad Bahram, the member of the board of directors of Islamic Council of Tehran City, mentioned that the obstacles, which limit the disabled people’s movement should be eliminated, and she said: Urban management must take steps to support the disabled people and the first thing it can do is to eliminate the working places in the sidewalks.
She also pointed to the fact that the urban managers should not have allowed the buildings, which are not suitable for disabled people, to be built.
The member of the head of the directors of the council also suggested to create a campaign to enforce the law for supporting people with disabilities by urban management.
