Ashoora sculpture unveiled

International affairs & public relations of TBO – On November 3rd, 2014, a sculpture unveiled in Tehran’s Imam Hossein Sq. , exhibiting the Ashoora day, during which, Imam Hossein (PBUH) martyred.

Socio-cultural deputy of Tehran municipality, Meisam Amrudi, deputy mayor for urban services, Mojtaba Abdollahi, head of Tehran Beautification Organization, Dr. Jamal Kamyab, sculptor artist, Siavash Salimi (creator of this work of art) and part of Tehran’s citizens, participated in the unveiling ceremony under the rain.

This giant sculpture is made of bronze and represents the famous painting of Farshchian about this incident. It is located on a circle-shape surface of 35 square meters with the diameter of 6.20m, 5.4 m in height and weight of 5.8 tons. Human, horse of Imam Hossein (PBUH), Zoljanah, and the burned tents are among the figurative works in this sculpture.
