Tehran Lit Up on Birth Anniversary of Imam Mahdi (AS)

Tehran was turned into a city of light on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Shia Muslims’ 12th Imam, Imam Madhdi (AS).


Tehran Beautification Organization carried out 12 lighting projects across the capital.


The streets of Tehran have been bedecked with colorful lights and banners as part of ceremonies held on the occasion of the auspicious birth anniversary of Shia Muslims 12th Imam, Imam Mahdi (AS).


Tehran Beautification Organization has carried out special cultural and artistic activities across the Iranian capital to celebrate 15TH of Shabaan, the birth anniversary of Shia Muslims 12th Imam Mahdi. Imam Mahdi is the 12th Shia Imam. Shia Muslims believe he will rid the world of tyranny and injustice.


Imam Mahdi’s birth anniversary falls on Friday June 24th this year. Millions of Shia Muslims in Iran and the Middle East hold ceremonies to celebrate the birth anniversary of their 12th Imam.


Tehran Beautification Organization has installed billboards and posters and colorful flags as well as banners across the city to celebrate the auspicious day. Floodlight projects are underway in many streets and several major squares in Tehran including Vali-e-Asr, Tajrish, Vanak. Tehran’s longest street, Vali-e-Asr Street which is named after Imam Mahdi (AS) has been bedecked and decorated with colorful flags and lights.
