Tehran Beautification Organization, in collaboration with Tehran University, plans to hold a special ceremony to commemorate late Iranian artist Seyed Mahdi Chiti.
The meeting is to be held at Bagh-e-Negarestan Compound on Tuesday. A number of Iranian artists, researchers, and academician are expected to take part in the event.
An exhibition, featuring artistic works created by the Iranian artist, will also be held at Kamalolmolk Museum on the sidelines of meeting. The exhibition will be underway until June 26th
Seyed Mehdi Chiti, was a prominent Iranian painter and sculptor. He was one of the students of Ali Akbar Sanati. He is well-known for his specific painting style decorating banners used in religious mourning rituals.
The great Iranian artist was born in the central city of Yazd back in 1899 and passed away in 2005.
