Statue of Iranian Contemporary Poet Qeysar Aminpour Unveiled

The Statue of prominent Iranian contemporary poet Qeysar Aminpour has been unveiled during a formal ceremony in Tehran.

The statue was installed at Qeysar Aminpour Square in Northern Tehran.

A number of urban officials including Managing Director of Tehran Municipality’s Beautification Organization Dr. Jamal Kamyab, Head of Tehran City Council Dr. Ahmad Masjed Jamei, as well as a number of Iranian poets and literary figure including Soheil Mhmoodi took part in the event.

The one-meter high statue has been commissioned by Tehran Beautification Organization and has been created by Iranian sculptor Hossein Ali Asgari.

Qeysar Aminpour was born in 1959 in southern Iran. Aminpour attended the University of Tehran and studied Persian literature.

Dr. Aminpour was widely published. Among the collection of his poetry one can mention: In the Avenue of Sunshine, The Noon of 10th day, the Morning Breath and Sudden Mirrors II. He taught in Tehran University and Azzahra University.

The Iranian poet passed away in 2003.
